New Town Primary School follows the Read Write Inc. programme for the teaching of systematic phonics.

Children from Reception to Year 2 are assessed and taught accordingly to their decoding ability. Children receive a daily phonics, reading and writing session which is taught by our staff trained in the delivery of the programme.

Supporting your child with Read Write Inc. Phonics at home:

The supporting Read Write Inc. Speed Sounds Books can be purchased via ParentPay. These can be used at home to help children practise reading and writing the sounds they have been learning in class.
