Parents
At New Town, we believe a strong partnership between parents and school is vital to helping every child achieve and thrive. We provide an opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teacher through our ‘meet the teacher sessions’ which are run at the start of the school year. This provides parents with the opportunities to ask questions about the class or school and to better understand our expectations of punctuality, behaviour and learning. We also hold regular parents’ evenings to talk about pupil progress and run workshops on various subject areas throughout the year. At the start of the year, all phases prepare a curriculum map which outlines the learning for the year. Following this, every term, phases throughout the school produce knowledge organisers which provide more detail about the learning. We are always looking to build and sustain open, honest communication and relationships, and as such have a commitment to an open door Policy. Many of our leaders and teachers are regularly available should you have any questions, concerns or feedback about our school. It is only by working together that we will be able to provide for every child’s needs: academic, behavioural or emotional. New Town Primary school is a close-knit school family with the foundation of our school being built on our core values of kindness, determination, tolerance and inclusivity, honesty and trust, love and resilience.
