Physical Education
At New Town, our vision for physical education is to ensure that our children develop a wide range of knowledge and skills to take part in various sporting activities, but also to have an awareness of the importance of their physical health.
At New Town, we use the Get Set 4 PE scheme to inform our teaching of PE which helps to ensure our children have great progression in each of the areas of teaching. Through this, we build on the fundamental skills starting from nursery and carrying on in reception and Key Stage one. Later, children learn to use the skills they have acquired in a wide range of sports. In sports, we teach the children how to work as a team, how to negotiate and plan change and how to resolve conflicts, which is important in PE, but also in life.
Through our extensive curriculum, we ensure that children leave New Town with the knowledge and skills to continue their physical education journey in secondary school and beyond.
Please find below the timetable for PE.
