New Town Primary School Nurturing Brilliance, Inspiring Ambition

OFSTED Reports

Ofsted visited the school on the 14th and 15th of January 2025 and carried out a full graded inspection. Their full report is attached below.

The inspection was incredibly positive and the report highlights the amazing work of the whole team at New Town, to develop each and every child and help them grow in so many ways during their time at the school.  We are particularly pleased the inspection team recognised the following strengths in their report:

"Pupils are proud of their extremely inclusive school. (....) The values of love, kindness and tolerance are at the heart of school life. (...) The school staff are kind and nurturing. Pupils feel safe and happy as part of the school’s caring family."

They also recognised many other strengths, including our broad curriculum and clear sequences of learning, the extensive work we do to help support families, our significant focus on reading and developing vocabulary and our resilient and well-behaved pupils.

Of course, there are areas for further development which the inspection team and leaders discussed, and in the next few years we will work to fully embed our newly introduced fantastic writing curriculum.  This was already written into our School Improvement Plan, and we will continue to sharply focus on this aspect of our provision in our quest to improve the school even further, and do our very best for our lovely children.

I would like to thank our amazing parents for their ongoing support in helping our school family thrive.
